In Year 2, we believe that learning should be enjoyable and enriching experience and we strive to ensure all children become positive and active learners. This year the children will build upon the skills they learnt in Year 1. They are encouraged to become more independent in their learning.
During the year, we will be covering a number of topics, which are made lively and stimulating by the use of role play, visitors, trips and a number of other activities. The topics being looked at this year are “Party Planners”, "Castles", "Mrs Armitage’s Vehicle", "All Creatures Great And Small", and "The Seaside". Throughout these topic areas, we will be using and expanding a number of skills the children already have and learning some new ones as well. The children will have the opportunity to take part in ICT, art, music, drama and sport activities as well as literacy, maths and science, in which children will be concentrating hard on improving their reading writing and mathematical skills.
Year 2 is a year with high expectations but it will also be enjoyable and full rewarding challenges for the children to overcome. |
